Ms. Rebecca Taylor submitted a request for an advisory opinion regarding whether the Code of Governmental Ethics would prohibit her as a member of the St. Tammany Parish Library Board of Control from processing her Medicare supplemental benefits that she earned as a library employee. Ms. Taylor provided that she retired from the St. Tammany Parish Library in 2007 and at age 65 and she will be eligible to apply for the Medicare supplement that she earned while serving as an employee of the St. Tammany Parish Library. Ms. Taylor supplied a statement from Library Director Donald Westmoreland that provides that she earned the benefit prior to 2007 and the benefit has not changed since 2002.
