Request that the Board waive $2,000 and $600 campaign finance late fees assessed against Adam J. Haney, in his capacity as a candidate for Judge / Juvenile Court, Sect. 1A/East Baton Rouge Parish in the November 4, 2014 election, his committee's chairperson, Vicky Tiller, whose 2015 and 2016 Supplemental campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 401 and 36 days late, respectively. |
|
Adam Haney states this was his first campaign, and he performed all of his campaign finance reporting himself, without professional help. He states that he filed all of the reports during the course of the campaign within the appropriate deadlines. He stated that he was fortunate enough to win, and assumed his new position on January 1, 2015. At that point, he stated that his main concern was acclimating to the position and dealing with the unique pressure and stress associated with being a juvenile court judge. Since January 1, 2015, he states that he has been making the changes needed in the Juvenile Court, and making sure his adopted children are well adjusted and thriving. Because he had not conducted any campaign activity, he states that he did not realize he had to continue filing reports.
