Rosetta Carr Burnett states that she was overwhelmed trying to learn the duties of being a Police Chief. She asks that the late fee be waived because she has taken a $250 month pay decrease as Police Chief. She states she has filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy and has also recently divorced. She states she has a house, that was willed to her and her four other siblings. A succession was conducted, to which she states she had to buy out her eldest brother's share of the property for $7000. She states that she had to obtain a high interest loan in which to pay him. She states she also has monthly bills which total $2512. She states that she is a single parent and grandmother, who made a potentially costly mistake in overlooking this required deadline.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
