Request to waive the $1,500 late fee assessed against Maggie Ellinger-Locke for failure to timely file a Lobbying Registration Report. |

Ms. Locke states that she is employed as Legislative counsel with the Marijuana Policy Project (MPP). She states that as part of her duties for MPP, she engages in lobbying activities in various states, including Louisiana.
First, she wants to note that she has not engaged in any lobbying activities in Louisiana in 2017 and does not expect to do so until session begins. She states that she misunderstood Louisiana's online filing system and submitted the wrong date on her 2017 registration paperwork. She states it was a clerical error on her part, and it reflects her confusion as to what is expected from her to comply with the online filing system. She also states that this is not a situation where she was engaging in lobbying without properly registering in compliance with the appropriate statute.
She is asking the Board to honor this waiver request. She states that this experience has taught her how to properly access the online system and that the error will not happen again.
