RE:
Request from Carrie Griffin Monica to waive the $1,500 late fee assessed for the late filing of a supplemental registration and $700 late fee assessed for the late filing of the January 2017 Expenditure Report.
Facts:
Ms. Monica states that on February 27, 2017, while attempting to file her January Lobbyist Disclosure report, she discovered that her registration process had not been fully completed. On February 28, 2017, Stand for Children, her employer, completed Ms. Monica's registration. Ms. Monica states they have ascertained that there were some erroneous assumptions made by their new regulatory compliance specialist that resulted in her 2017 registration being incomplete. As a result, she states that she was operating with the understanding that all necessary documentation and fees had been submitted and paid in order to complete her registration. She states that she is aware of the statutes and reasoning behind the steep fees assessed against her.
