Adam Lambert states that he has always been diligent in getting his filings in on time using the LEADERS software from 2012 until now. This year he states that he thought he had successfully negotiated the LEADERS software and believed the report was filed timely. He states that the LEADERS software seemed to connect and run through its motions of filing. However, he states something obviously went wrong without him noticing it, as the filing did not go through and he was not aware of it until he received the letter from the Ethics Board. He states he was having ongoing problems with his internet and had various cable techs come to fix the problem and Cox finally replaced all wires which seemed to fix the problem. He states that he did try to make the filing timely and genuinely thought it was done. He intends to close out this campaign account so that he will not have to make future filings.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
