Request that the Board waive the $600 campaign finance late fee assessed against Albert "Ali" Burl, III, in his capacity as a candidate for State Senator, 2nd Dist, St. John the Baptist Parish in the April 29, 2017 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 11 days late.
Facts:
Albert Burl, III states that he has been fined in the past and paid the fees because it was totally of his own doing. He states he has tried to limit his cost by trying to manage his campaign solely on his own by trying to completely fund his campaign, holding all obligations, and trying to work has become hard for him.

Law:
18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
