RE:
Request that the Board waive the $160 and $400 campaign finance late fees assessed against Mary Morris, a candidate for Councilman, District A, City of Lake Charles, Calcasieu Parish, in the March 25, 2017 election, whose Special (48 Hour) campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 4 and 10 days late, respectively.
Facts:
Mary Lou Morris states that she received two letters stating that she has penalties for not filing the special reports in a timely manner, which was a surprise to her. She states she followed the filing schedule and was not delinquent. Therefore, she is disputing the assessment of late fees and requesting a waiver.
