RE:
Request that the Board waive the $1,000, $1,000, $1,000, $400 and $400 campaign finance late fees assessed against Joseph A. "Joe" Pitre, in his capacity as a candidate for Mayor, Town of Washington, St. Landry Parish (Pop. 964), in the November 4, 2014 election, whose 30-P, 10-P, 10-G, 2014 Suppl and 2015 Suppl campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 869, 848, 895, 380 and 15 days late, respectively.
Facts:
Joseph A. Pitre states he paid and is currently paying $500.00 per pay period for similar circumstances because of his lack of understanding of the filing requirements. He states his home was broken into and many records have been very difficult to reconstruct. He states he has had to hire an attorney, as well as a CPA, which has been a personal burden on his personal finances. Finally, he states his daughter has had three surgeries in the past eighteen months for heart and gland irregularity.

Law:
