Request that the Board waive the $1,000 and $1,000 late fees assessed against William Lawson, a candidate for Chief of Police, City of Walker, Livingston Parish in the November 8, 2016 election, whose 10-G and 2016 supplemental campaign finance disclosure reports have not been filed. |

William Lawson states that his home received 32 inches of water and lost everything in the house. Due to the flooding, he states that he was displaced to a residence in the Spring Lake subdivision in Walker. He states that his wife was displaced to her parents' house in Alexandria, Louisiana. He states that he continued to work at Walker Police Department during the historic flooding. Every hour that he was not working at the Police Department, he states he was working on his house to get it livable. He states that they have since been able to complete the repairs but at an additional out of pocket cost.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
