Dr. Trey Morice, III was appointed as Deputy Coroner of St. Mary Parish. (pop.54,650) Dr. Morice also serves on the Board of Commissioners of Hospital Service District No. 2 in St. Mary Parish. Dr. Morice is also a preferred provider of medical care for St. Mary Parish Government employees.
Dr. Morice questions whether his service as Deputy Coroner and as a Board Member of the Hospital Service District No. 2 violates the law on "dual office holding" and whether as Deputy Coroner for St. Mary Parish he can engage in a relationship with St. Mary Parish Government wherein he is one of the preferred providers of medical care for St. Mary Parish Government employees.
