Christine Landry, report preparer for Preservation Partners, states that she was extremely busy with the preparing and filing of numerous tax returns during the time of October 1, 2017 through October 15, 2017. At that time, she states that she was in charge of preparing and filing campaign finance reports for their campaign clients. Because of ongoing elections for five (5) other campaign clients for the October 14, 2017 election and having to be aware of the 48 hour reporting for these five candidates, she states that she failed to mark her calendar as a reminder of the monthly reporting commitments. She states that steps have been taken to prevent this from happening again. She states that the monthly reports for Preservation Partners have been timely filed in the past and she requests that the Board take that into consideration.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
