Request that the Board waive the $3,000 campaign finance late fee assessed against the Citizens for a Safer Ouachita, a political action committee, its committee director, William R. Boles, Jr., and chairperson, Claude B. Mi, in the November 18, 2017 proposition election whose 40-E campaign finance report was filed 73 days late. |

Joshua T. Leonard, attorney for Citizens for a Safer Ouachita, states that the PAC was formed solely to support a proposition on the November 18, 2017 ballot. Whenever he sent in the reporting form prior to the election, he states he intended to notify the Board of the dissolution of the PAC. Due to a clerical error, he states this did not occur, but the PAC has not, and will not, be engaging in any political activity beyond the November 18, 2017 election date. For the aforementioned reasons, he respectfully requests a waiver of the late filing fee.
