Wanda Schmitz is currently an appointed member of the Church Point Housing Authority. The appointment was made by the Mayor's office, with no involvement from the Church Point Board of Aldermen. Ms. Schmitz is also a local real estate agent. The Town would like Ms. Schmitz to enter into a contract to sell a commercial building. The property transaction would not come under the supervision or jurisdiction of the Church Point Housing Authority.

La. R.S. 42:1113B provides that no appointed member of any board or commission, member of his immediate family, or legal entity in which he has a substantial economic interest shall bid on or enter into or be in any way interested in any contract, subcontract, or other transaction which is under the supervision or jurisdiction of the agency of such appointed member.
