On May 21, 2018, David Lee Simmons became employed as the Communications Manager under Mayor Latoya Cantrell, within the Office of Communications for the City of New Orleans. A portion of his duties includes assisting other agencies with their communication efforts, including the New Orleans Public Library. For the past two or three years, his wife, Faith Dawson Simmons, has been a member of the Board for the Friends of the New Orleans Public Library, which is a non-profit organization that provides support to the purpose and mission of the New Orleans Public Library. Ms. Simmons receives no compensation in connection with her service on the Board.
