The duties Mr. Revel would perform as a member of the Abatement Board would be looking for startup funding from the Livingston Parish Council and/or other governmental entities, educating the people of the parish, and getting the mosquito abatement up and running. He stated he would also have a duty to try to persuade the public to back the mosquito abatement initiative, allow it on the ballot, and to vote for it.
Mr. Revel is an IT Tech Specialist for the Office of Technology Services. This position does not in any way involve mosquito abatement. Mr. Revel stated that the only governmental entity from which the Abatement Board would seek funding would be the Louisiana Department of Health. However, the Livingston Parish Council may seek funding that will be passed on to the Abatement Board.
