Leora Thomas has signed a consent order in which she agrees that she violated La. R.S. 42:1111A(1)(a) when she received a check from Project Celebration, non-profit entity, for performing work as a public employee for GSRCP, a component unit of Northwestern State University. Ms. Thomas has submitted full payment of the the $2,000 civil penalty.

La. R.S. 42:1111A provides that no public servant shall receive anything of economic value, other than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly entitled, for the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position.
