La. Tech Early Childhood Education Center ("School") offers students the opportunity to purchase books through Scholastic. For each order made by a student, the school receives Scholastic points, which can be redeemed for books and materials to enhance classroom libraries. Additionally, the school is ordering 600 copies of a book through Scholastic. As a result, the school will earn enough Scholastic points to receive another set of 600 books at no cost to be used by the students. Ms. Chestnut stated that all books received from Scholastic are property of the school and no individual school employee is receiving the books in their private capacities.
