Consent order signed by Michael Giroir of Gulf Coast Wrestling regarding its violation of La. R.S. 42:1117 for compensating a person who is employed by the Amelia Community Center, while Gulf Coast Wrestling had a contract with the Community Center.
Facts:




Mr. Giror has signed a consent order agreeing to a violation of La. R.S. 42:1117 for compensating an employee of the Amelia Community Center, which is operated by the St. Mary Parish Recreation District No. 1, for wrestling related services performed at other venues. Mr. Giror has paid in full the civil penalty imposed against him for such violation.


Law:
La. R.S. 42:1111C(2)(d) provides that no public servant and no legal entity in which the public servant exercises control or owns an interest in excess of twenty-five percent, shall receive any thing of economic value for or in consideration of services rendered, or to be rendered, to or for any person during his public service unless such services are neither performed for nor compensated by any person from whom such public servant would be prohibited by R.S. 42:1115(A)(1) or (B) from receiving a gift.

La. R.S. 42:1117 provides that no public servant or other person shall give, pay, loan, transfer, or deliver or offer to give, pay, loan, or deliver, directly or indirectly, to any other public servant or other person any thing of economic value which such public servant or other person would be prohibited from receiving by any provision of this Part.

Recommendations:
Adopt and publish the consent order.
