Chauncey M. Hardy was employed as a Program Monitor with the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH), Office of Addictive Disorders until his retirement on January 12, 2018. Mr. Hardy acted as a supervisor for the drug prevention unit and his duties included: educating and disseminating information regarding the prevention of alcohol, tobacco, and other drug materials. Mr. Hardy presented information for religious and secular groups, fraternities, sororities, civic organizations, and anyone who requested information. Further, Mr. Hardy oversaw the activities of the prevention unit which included line supervision of 2 employees and functional supervision of 7 prevention contracts.
Mr. Hardy is considering a position as Executive Director with the Sickle Cell Anemia Research Foundation in Alexandria ("Foundation"). The foundation has a contract with LDH, Office of Public Health.

La. R.S. 42:1121B(1) prohibits a former public employee, for a period of two years following the termination of his public employment, from assisting another person, for compensation, in a transaction, or in an appearance in connection with a transaction in which such former public employee participated at any time during his public employment and involving the governmental entity by which he was formerly employed, or for a period of two years following termination of his public employment, render, any service which such former public employee had rendered to the agency during the term of his public employment on a contractual basis, regardless of the parties to the contract, to, for, or on behalf of the agency with which he was formerly employed.
