Perry Fleming was elected as Chief of Police and first took office in January of 2014. His wife, Kristi Fleming, is interested in the position of Town Clerk. The Town only provides the budget for the Mangham Police Department with no other supervision.
Chief Fleming receives assistance from the Town Clerk in regard to the financial aspects of the Police Department, including the payment of bills. Any check written by the Town requires two signatures. The signatures of the Mayor and Town Clerk usually adorn these checks. In the absence of either, an Alderman can sign the check.

La. R.S. 42:1119A provides that no member of the immediate family of an agency head shall be employed in his agency.
La. R.S. 42:1112B(1) provides that no public servant shall participate in a transaction involving the governmental entity in which, to his actual knowledge, any member of his immediate family has a substantial economic interest.
