Advisory Opinion request from Jonathan M. Rhodes regarding possible prohibitions of outside employment.
Facts:
Jonathan Rhodes is considering accepting an unclassified position with the Mayor's Office for the City of New Orleans. He asks whether an unclassified employee may engage in outside employment, and, if so, how any potential conflicts of interest should be handled.
Law:
Ethics Rules Sec. 607 allows for a withdrawal if the person who submitted the request provides reasons for the withdrawal which the Board deems sufficient.
Recommendations:
Allow withdrawal of the opinion request.
