RE:
Waiver request submitted by Shalandra L. Allen, candidate for Mayor, Town of White Castle, Iberville Parish (Pop. 1883) in the November 6, 2018 election, regarding a $1500 late fee assessed for filing her amended 2017 Tier 3 candidate pfd 103 days late.
Facts:
In speaking with Ms. Allen, staff determined the following: Ms. Allen received her NOD/Amend on 9/24/18. She faxed what she believed to be the document we needed on 10/10/18; however, the document she faxed was a campaign finance report and not the amendment. She became aware of the mistake when she received her late fee notice on 1/7/19. She filed her amendment on 1/14/19. Ms. Allen states that she was late in filing paperwork with the Board because she was in the midst of the campaign.
