Request that the Board waive the $2,000 campaign finance late fee assessed against Kenneth P. Garrett, Sr., a candidate for State Representative / 102nd Representative District in the October 24, 2015 election, who amended the 2017 supplemental campaign finance report to accurately disclose the required information after the late fee was assessed. |
|
Waiver Request
Kenneth Garrett, Sr. states that he filed the 2017 supplemental report on time and was later notified of a calculation error on his report. He requested an appointment to review the miscalculations. He states that he was told someone would get back in touch with him. Next, he says he received a letter from the Louisiana Board of Ethics notifying him of late charges assessed. He states he is appealing this assessment because he feels he should have been able to get assistance with the calculation error that was less than ten dollars, which would have allowed him to file an amended report.
Reconsideration Request
Mr. Garrett requested that the Board reconsider waiving the $2,000 civil penalty because he is on a very limited income and it would cause him serious financial hardship.
