RE:
Request that the Board waive the $40 and $320 campaign finance late fees assessed against Sheila Crosby Wimberly, a candidate for Member of School Board, District 12, Caddo Parish, in the November 6, 2018 election, whose Special and 10-G campaign finance reports were filed 1 and 8 days late, respectively.
Facts:
Sheila Crosby Wimberly states that she spoke with Board of Ethics' staff and was informed to only send candidates' special reports, schedule A, schedule B, and schedule C. She states she has always reported timely and with follow ups to the office, and she has never submitted a late report. She states she is asking for the Board's consideration as she is a first time candidate for public office.

Law:
18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed. 18:1484.(2)(b). Each candidate for any other public office shall file reports of contributions in excess of two hundred dollars in the aggregate during the aggregating period.
Recommendations:
Decline to waive for the Special report.

Suspend all but $100 based on future compliance for the 10-G report.The late fee must be paid within 30 days or the suspended portion becomes due and owing.
