RE: Advisory opinion request by Jeremy Hidalgo regarding whether there would be any ethics violations if he continues to serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) for the City of Broussard if he is elected to the Lafayette Parish Council. Facts: Mr. Hidalgo currently serves as the full-time COO for the City of Broussard. He plans on running for the District 3, Lafayette Parish Council seat in the fall. He stated that the Lafayette Parish Council does not provide funding to the City of Broussard. Mr. Hidalgo does not represent the City of Broussard at Lafayette Parish Council meetings. He is paid a salary in his current position. Recommendations: Adopt proposed opinion.
