Request that the Board reconsider waiving the $1,800 campaign finance late fee assessed against the LA Oil and Gas PAC, a political action committee, its committee's chairperson, Don G. Briggs, and treasurer, Bryan Hanks, whose September 2018 Monthly Report campaign finance report was filed 9 days late. |
|
Gifford Briggs, executive director for LA Oil and Gas PAC, states that they have a record of filing their reports timely, and missing this deadline was a human error that was caused by a miscommunication within the office. As soon as he realized the error, he states that he voluntarily called the Ethics office to resolve the matter. He states that a fine of this size is detrimental to the PAC and would create a real hardship.
