Mr. Wood states he made a mistake during the 2019 registration process. He attempted to finalize his January 2019 expenditure report and noticed that the lobbying online system drop down only displayed options for 2018. As the January 2019 expenditure report deadline approached, he stated he realized he hadn't registered for 2019. When Mr. Wood state that he called lobbying staff and was informed that he entered January 1, 2019 as his first action date and his payment was due by January 7, 2019. He stated that he had applied for his lobbying badge with the House of Representatives, but he forgot to renew his registration.

R.S. 49:74A and 24:53A and 33:9664 provide that "[e]ach lobbyist shall register with the ethics board as soon as possible after employment as a lobbyist or after the first action requiring his registration as a lobbyist, whichever occurs first, and in any event not later than five days after employment as a lobbyist or not later than five days after the first action requiring his registration as a lobbyist, whichever occurs first."
