Waiver request submitted by Jake Alan Long, former member of the Olla Board of Alderman/LaSalle Parish (Pop. 1385), regarding a $1500 late fee assessed for filing his amended 2016 Tier 3 annual pfd 121 days late. |
|
Mr. Long states that he resigned from office in August, 2016 because he moved out of town. He didn't believe he needed to file anything with the board until he received a letter from the board spoke with staff in August of 2018. He states that the letter was mailed to an old address and the only reason he received the letter was because the post office recognized his name and contacted him at his current employer. He states that his position on the board paid him $50 per month and that he would return the payment to the town because the town was having financial issues. He also states that the late fee would be a financial burden because his two year old son is ill and he has medical bills to pay.
