Request for an advisory opinion from Robert Gentry as to issues of nepotism involving a Parish Official (no specific parish provided)
Facts:
Robert Gentry with Baldridge-Dumas Communications in Many (pop.2,853) (Sabine Parish), requested an opinion as to whether it would be an ethical violation for a Parish Official (i.e. Clerk, Tax Assessor or Sheriff) to employ a daughter-in-law, a niece or a nephew.
Comments:
Robert Gentry asked to withdraw his request for an advisory opinion.
Law:
La. R.S. 42:1119A prohibits an agency head from having an immediate family member employed in his agency.
Recommendations:
Allow for the withdrawal of the request for an advisory opinion.
