Consent opinion concerning Daphne Levenson for violations of La. R.S. 42:1111A and La. R.S. 42:1112A in connection with her receipt of funds from Project Celebration while being employed by the Town of Many and Northwestern State University.
Facts:
Daphne Levenson violated La. R.S. 42:1111A(1)(a) and La. R.S. 42:1112A by virtue of her request for and receipt of a $4,000 check from the Project Celebration account at Mid-South Bank operated by Project Celebration Inc. to which she was not duly entitled to receive for services she performed as director of Northwestern State University's Gulf States Regional Center for Public Safety Innovations.
Comments:
Daphne Levenson has signed the consent opinion, a Confession of Judgment and a payment plan for the $3,000 civil penalty.
Law:
La. R.S. 42:1111A provides that no public servant shall receive anything of economic value, other than compensation and benefits from the governmental entity to which he is duly entitled, for the performance of the duties and responsibilities of his office or position.

La. R.S. 42:1112A provides that no public servant shall participate in a transaction in which he has a personal substantial economic interest of which he may be reasonably expected to know involving the governmental entity.

Recommendations:
Adopt and publish the consent opinion and dismiss charges.
