Atty. Leonard's client is considering seeking a seat on the City Council of Morgan City. Members of the client's family own a parcel of land, which they lease to a company. This third party company occasionally sells products and/or services to Morgan City. Atty. Leonard inquired as to whether the client would be able to serve as a Morgan City councilman while members of his family lease property to the third party company.
