Eric Nail was employed by the Office of the Secretary of State as an Information Technology Technical Support Consultant until September 19, 2019. Mr. Nail has accepted employment as a sales engineer with Pure Storage, an enterprise storage vendor that manufactures high-performance appliances that all of the secretary of state's day-to-day data is stored on. The position with Pure Storage would not be a salesperson, but would assist Pure Storage in answering technical questions and helping customers choose solutions that suit their needs and implementing technical presentations and classes for current and potential customers.
While working for the Secretary of State's Office, Mr. Nail was responsible for the management of installation, maintenance and administration of software/hardware used by the office. Mr. Nail also identified, researched, and resolved system software and hardware problems including storage hardware.

La. R.S. 42:1121B(1) prohibits a former public employee, for a period of two years following the termination of his public employment, from assisting another person, for compensation, in a transaction, or in an appearance in connection with a transaction in which such former public employee participated at any time during his public employment and involving the governmental entity by which he was formerly employed, or for a period of two years following termination of his public employment, rendering, any service which such former public employee had rendered to the agency during the term of his public employment on a contractual basis, regardless of the parties to the contract, to, for, or on behalf of the agency with which he was formerly employed.
