Donovan Archote is employed as the Commander of Louisiana State Police ("LSP") Troop B in Jefferson Parish. His job duties include highway safety enforcement and responding to critical incidents such as hurricanes, floods, active shooter investigations, and local agency emergency requests.
Mr. Archote's wife, Betty Archote, owns Huey P.'s Pizzeria in Violet, La. She is considering applying for a Type 2 video gaming establishment license for the restaurant. The applications are submitted to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, pursuant to the Louisiana Gaming Control Law, La. R.S. 27:1, et seq., with regulation under the authority of the Gaming Enforcement Division within LSP, Department of Public Safety and Corrections.
Mr. Archote's job duties do not involve gaming enforcement. LSP Troop B does not perform any gaming enforcement duties or have any other authority over gaming activities.
