Michael Bonaventure is employed with the Office of State Buildings, Electrical Division and was recently promoted on October 23, 2019 to the position of Electronic Technician Supervisor. Michael Bonaventure's brother, Joseph Bonaventure, has been employed with the Office of State Buildings, Electrical Division as an Electronic Technician since June 17, 2013, more than one year prior to his brother being promoted to the position of Electronic Technician Supervisor.
Jason Guidroz, Electrical Division Manager for the Office of State Buildings, submitted a Disqualification Plan whereby Michael Bonaventure would not supervise his brother. The responsibility to supervise Michael Bonaventure would be handled by Jason Guidroz. Further, Michael Bonaventure has recused himself from any decisions involving Joseph Bonaventure's pay, performance evaluation, promotions, or any decision that involves a potential substantial economic interest.

La. R.S. 42:1112B(1) prohibits a public servant from participating in a transaction involving the governmental entity in which, to his actual knowledge, any member of his immediate family has a substantial economic interest.
La. R.S. 42:1112C provides that every public employee, excluding an appointed member of any board or commission, shall disqualify himself from participating in a transaction involving the governmental entity when a violation of this Part would result.
