RE:
Request that the Board waive a $800 campaign finance late fee assessed against Denise Carpenter, a candidate for BESE, District 1, in the October 12, 2019, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 8 days late.
Facts:
Denise Carpenter states the following:

She withdrew from the election less than a week after qualifying. She went personally to Secretary of State to withdraw to make sure she fully complied with requirements. She never opened a bank or campaign account, nor accepted any funds on behalf of her campaign and was unaware she had to file the report.

18:1505.4.A(1) Any candidate, the treasurer or chairman of a political committee, or any other person required to file any reports under this Chapter, who knowingly fails to file or who knowingly fails to timely file any such reports as are required by this Chapter may be assessed a civil penalty for each day until such report is filed.

Rescind the late fee pursuant to Rule 1205D.
