Request that the Board waive the $2,000, $2,000 and $300 campaign finance late fees assessed against Natchez "Trey" Morice, a candidate for St. Mary Parish Coroner in the November 6, 2018 election, whose 30-P, 10-P and 10-G campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 55, 35 and 5 days late, respectively. |
|
Trey Morice requests a waiver and states the following:
This was his first and only time that he ran for public office. His inexperience rendered him completely unaware of the fact that he had not properly (timely) filed the paperwork. Unlike other candidates, during his campaign he didn't have a campaign manager and was not told about these deadlines. He moved just after the campaign and there was some complexity with his mail being forwarded to his new house. Apparently he didn't receive notice of the delays with these forms which needed his attention. As soon as he became aware of the issue, he immediately began corresponding with LA Board of Ethics and filed necessary reports.
