Untimely waiver request submitted by Alicia Calvin, candidate for State Representative, District 16, in the October 12, 2019 election, regarding a $700 late fee assessed for filing her amended 2018 Tier 2 Candidate PFD 7 days late. |
|
The waiver request was due by October 29, 2019. Ms. Calvin received a demand letter for the payment of the late fee. Ms. Calvin states she contacted the staff and this was the first time she realized that her report preparer filed the report late and failed to timely request a waiver on her behalf. Ms. Calvin states that her report preparer, Ashton Jackson, assured her he was handling matters as he should be. Again, she states it was not until she received the demand letter that she realized he was not honest with her. She states the late fee would create financial hardship and she would not like Mr. Ashton's actions to keep her from running for office in the future. She states she is seeking replacement staff to help.
