Request that the Board waive the $1,380 and two $780 campaign finance late fees assessed against Mack Cormier, a candidate for State Representative, 105th Representative District, in the October 12, 2019 election, whose 10-G, EDE-G and 40-G campaign finance disclosure reports were filed 23, 13 and 13 days late, respectively. |
|
Rep. Mack Cormier requests a waiver and states the following:
This was his first time in political office or running at this level, and the reporting quickly overwhelmed him. From the beginning, he did everything in his campaign. He was his own manager, wrote his own radio commercials, built his own signs and put them up by himself, was his own strategist, and was a full time teacher at an alternative high school all at the same time. It was maddening to approach each report with the thought that his numbers were already off and may be reporting numbers he would have to amend again and again, all the while dealing with everything else.
Staff notes:
On October 31, 2019, an email was sent reminding candidates in the fall primary and general 2019 elections of the need to file 10-G, EDE-G, Special and 40-G reports.
