Mr. Baird states that due to an error, his lobbying registration with the State of Louisiana Board of Ethics indicated that he engaged in lobbying with an action date of January 6, 2020. He states that the date of Monday, January 6, 2020 was entered incorrectly, but is reflective of the first week of the Mississippi Legislative Session which began on Tuesday, January 7, 2020. Mr. Baird states that he has not engaged in any lobbying activity in the State of Louisiana. He also states that he does not have any clients in the State of Louisiana, he has not made any lobbying expenditures in the state, and he has not engaged in lobbying activity or taken any lobbying action in the State of Louisiana.

R.S. 49:74A and 24:53A and 33:9664 provide that "[e]ach lobbyist shall register with the ethics board as soon as possible after employment as a lobbyist or after the first action requiring his registration as a lobbyist, whichever occurs first, and in any event not later than five days after employment as a lobbyist or not later than five days after the first action requiring his registration as a lobbyist, whichever occurs first."
