Request to waive the $900 late fee assessed against Stephanie Doiron for filing her 2020 lobbying registration 18 days late.
Facts:
Mrs. Doiron states that her 2020 registration was the first time she's registered in many years. She stated that this situation was the result of an error when she reported the date of her first lobbying activity being April 1, 2020, rather than the actual date of April 24, 2020. She states she has not conducted any activity that would constitute lobbying, spoken with a legislator, nor made an expenditure.

Law:
R.S. 49:74A and 24:53A and 33:9664 provide that "[e]ach lobbyist shall register with the ethics board as soon as possible after employment as a lobbyist or after the first action requiring his registration as a lobbyist, whichever occurs first, and in any event not later than five days after employment as a lobbyist or not later than five days after the first action requiring his registration as a lobbyist, whichever occurs first."
