Waiver request submitted by Bobby L. Madison, Sr., Clayton Chief of Police/Clayton (Concordia Parish - Pop. 711, regarding a $1500 late fee assessed for filing his 2018 Tier 3 Annual PFD 180 days late. |
|
Bobby Madison is seeking a waiver for the late filing of his 2018 Annual PFD Statement. Mr. Madison stated he never had any outside help when completing his Ethics forms and has not had any campaign donations.
Mr. Madison stated he will manage to pay the current outstanding fine of $3000 with the AG Collection Office, but cannot manage to pay the other $1500 before the July Qualifying Period. He's asking the Ethics Board for help, otherwise he will not be able to run for office again until this fine is paid. He said if he was able to get the additional $1500, he would"pay it in a heartbeat".
He continues by saying this has been a real "eye opener and learning experience" for him; it was not his intention to ever attempt to "beat the system"; and, he was not aware he was required to file Annual Personal Financial Disclosures since he is a Police Chief in a small village.
