Waiver request submitted by Thomas "Hunter" Landry, Zachary City Council/District 4/East Baton Rouge Parish (Pop. 14960), regarding a $1500 late fee assessed for filing his 2018 Tier 3 annual PFD 310 days late. |
|
Thomas "Hunter" Landry is requesting a waiver for the late filing of his 2018 PFD for the following reasons:
Mr. Landry stated he is new to politics and has not had any assistance when completing his disclosures. Mr. Landry stated it was a misunderstanding that led to his failure to file. In February 2020, he received a notice and contacted the the CF Division and spoke with a CF Compliance Officer regarding his supplemental reports. He assumed that these reports covered the Annual PFD filing requirements. When he received the Late Fee Order, he contacted the BOE and learned that there are two different departments. The PFD Director informed him that a NOD was issued to him on 9/6/2019. Mr. Landry stated that he never received the NOD and that the signature on the Green Card does not belong to him or anyone in his household. He stated that he now understands his error and filed a compliant 2018 immediately. Mr. Landry stated he apologizes for the misunderstanding and would appreciate the Ethics Board's consideration in waiving his fee.
