Charles Mayeux received a notice of delinquency on December 13, 2010 requesting he file his Tier 3 candidate personal financial disclosure statement in connection with the October 2, 2010 election. Mr. Mayeux did not file the report until March 18, 2011, 72 days late. The Evergreen Town clerk has requested the Board waive the fees because she was unaware of the filing requirement. However, it is not her responsibility to file for Mr. Mayeux. Mr. Mayeux is employed full time by Lott Oil Company and works as the Town's Police Chief during the hours off from his full time employment. He receives $267.06 a month for his position as Police Chief. No information was presented regarding his salary at Lott Oil Company. The Town Clerk who submitted this request for reconsideration states the fine would create a financial hardship.

LSA R.S. 18:1495.7 requires candidates to file a personal financial disclosure statement with the Board of Ethics within 10 days of qualifying to run for office.
Section 1124.3 of the Code requires persons holding a public office who represent a voting district having a population of less than 5,000 to file a financial disclosure statement.
Section 1124.4 of the Code provides that upon discovery of the failure to file, failure to timely file, omission of information or inaccurate information, the Board shall notify the filer by send him a notice of delinquency by certified mail. The notice of delinquency shall give the filer fourteen (14) business days after receipt to correct delinquent report or provide an answer contesting the delinquency.
