In connection with his request for a waiver of the $2,000 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 30-P campaign finance report, Joe McPherson, chairman on behalf of the committee, states that his legal assistant, who was responsible for preparing the committee's reports, retired in January of 2011. He maintains that his new assistant was unaware of the reporting schedule and therefore did not know a report was due. He further states that the report was immediately filed upon receipt of notice from the Campaign Finance division.
