RE:
Request that the Board waive the $400 campaign finance late fee assessed against Lennis "Dale" Trahan, a candidate for Acadia Parish Police Juror, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose EDE-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 27 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $400 late fee assessed for the late filing of an EDE-P campaign finance report, S. Scott Soileau, on behalf of the candidate, states that the candidate did not realize he was required to file an election day expenditure report, since he had no expenditures on the date of the primary election of October 22, 2011. When he realized that a report should have been filed, a report was prepared and filed immediately. Mr. Trahan is an any other level candidate. This is his first campaign. He was a successful candidate.
