RE:
Request that the Board waive the $600 campaign finance late fee assessed against Russell E. Evans, a candidate for Sheriff of Evangeline Parish, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 30-P campaign finance disclosure report was filed 56 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $600 late fee assessed for the late filing of a 30-P campaign finance report, Russell E. Evans, states that he is sorry about not filing his report timely. He is on a fixed income and disable. He maintains that his family moved from Metairie to Turkey Creek after they lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, and he was trying to get a job he could possibly do. He would appreciate it if the Board can forgive his mistake and waive the late fee. Mr. Evans is a district level candidate. This is his second campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
