RE:
Request that the Board waive the $480 campaign finance late fee assessed against Jack Hill, Jr., a candidate for Union Parish Police Juror, District 3, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 12 days late.
Facts:
In connection with his request for a waiver of the $480 late fee assessed for the late filing of the 10-G campaign finance report, Jack Hill, Jr., states he is a first time candidate, who was unfamiliar with the filing requirements for filing his report. He maintains that in reviewing the candidate's packet, he inadvertently overlooked the filing schedule for filing the 10-G report. He ran for office hoping to help the people of his ward to make a change, and asks that the Board waive the late fee because he truly did not intend to do anything wrong. Mr. Hill is an any other level candidate. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
