Request that the Board waive the $420 campaign finance late fee assessed against Joe Leblanc, a candidate for Sheriff of Iberia Parish, in the October 22, 2011 election, whose 10-G campaign finance disclosure report was filed 7 days late. |

In connection with her request for a waiver of the $420 late fee assessed for the late filing of the 10-G campaign finance report, Mary LeBlanc, on behalf of the candidate, states that she was unaware of the requirement to file the report. She further states that the candidate received a certified letter from the Campaign Finance division regarding his Special and EDE-P reports. She contacted the office to inquire about the letter, and after speaking with a Campaign Finance compliance officer, she was told that the reports were found and everything was fine. Mrs. LeBlanc maintains that she told the compliance officer that the Special and EDE-P reports zeroed out the candidate's campaign account, and was assured that everything was fine. Mr. LeBlanc is a district level candidate. This is his fifth campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
