In connection with his request for a reconsideration of a waiver of the $200 and $200 late fees assessed for the late filings of a 10-P and EDE-P campaign finance reports, Robert Mik maintains that he is a disabled veteran who lives on a fixed income. He also states that he has recently been diagnosed with Esophageal cancer. He has been on a very aggressive chemo and radiation therapy regimen that is both taxing on his ability to work and on his finances. He maintains that the late fees assessed against him would create financial hardship. Mr. Mik is a district level candidate. This is his first campaign. He was an unsuccessful candidate.
The Board, at its February 17, 2012 meeting, suspended all but $200 for each of the $300 and $420 late fees, conditioned upon future compliance. Also, staff has requested medical documentation which, if received, will be presented to the Board.
